Examples of collaboration with selected universities

Technical University of Denmark (DTU)

THE ACADEMY by DHI and the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) regularly conduct a three-week course on coastal and marine modelling for up to 20 international MSc and PhD students. Students learn flooding and coastal processes as well as how to model metocean conditions using MIKE 21.

University Nice Sophia-Antipolis and Polytech Nice Sophia, France

MIKE Powered by DHI software constitutes a core component of the water engineering course work at Polytech Nice with around 275 students at University Nice Sophia-Antipolis and Polytech Nice Sophia using the software. DHI teams are also regularly involved in training sessions at these universities.

Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi, India

IITs are reputed as the highest ranked academic institutions in India. THE ACADEMY by DHI has a collaborative agreement with Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi based on shared academic and research interests in the broad area of water modelling. As an example, more than 25 engineers and scientists from nine states have been trained on MIKE HYDRO Basin as a part of a DSS project at National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee.

Technical University of PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia

The ACADEMY by DHI and our Coastal and Marine Department in Kuala Lumpur deliver annual training on “Numerical Modelling for Coastal Engineering” to civil engineering undergrads at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). The training focuses on MIKE 21 with an emphasis on both the theoretical aspects as well as real life case examples, particularly in Malaysia.

DHI-NTU Centre, Singapore

DHI-NTU Centre was established by DHI Singapore (DHI) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with the support of the Environment & Water Industry Development Council (EWI). The centre aims to generate new water knowledge and strengthen the local industry via the development of innovative technologies and training on Industrial Water Management, Urban Planning and Water Management, Solid Waste Management, Environmental Impact Assessment and Cross-Cutting Decision Support System (DSS) Tools and Technologies.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand

THE ACADEMY by DHI and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand regularly conduct a six-day Master’s course on MIKE HYDRO River. Additional university collaboration in Thailand includes MSc thesis supervision at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and Chulalongkorn University (CU) as well as BSc thesis supervision at the Irrigation Development Institute. In addition, one of our local trainers provides guest lectures on flood modelling at Kasetsart University (KU).
