DHI is organising a one-day groundwater modelling workshop in Sacramento on 8 October 2015. This free networking and knowledge-sharing event will follow the 30th Biennial Groundwater Conference & 24th Groundwater Resources Association Annual Meeting, taking place at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel 6-7 October. DHI is co-sponsor of the 30th Biennial Groundwater Conference and will have a booth at the conference. Our workshop will also take place at the same venue.
The workshop will start off with a talk by Dr. Nigel Quinn, Research Leader at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory / University of California, Berkeley /US Bureau of Reclamation, addressing major groundwater issues in California in an overview on current groundwater modelling in the San Joaquin valley. Dr. Volker Clausnitzer and Peter Schätzl from DHI-WASY in Berlin, Germany will provide insight into the state-of-the art technologies that FEFLOW provides to solve the most challenging groundwater and groundwater-surface water problems. In the afternoon, FEFLOW users will share their experiences, discuss current FEFLOW codes, recent developments, capabilities, modelling needs and how current experts utilise advanced tools such as FEFLOW to solve challenging problems.
