Sponsoring the Basque Country Youth Sailing Championship
On the 21 to 22 May, DHI Spain, together with the Basque Ports Authority (EKP), sponsored the Basque Country Youth Sailing Championship that was held in San Sebastián, on the Northern Coast of Spain. The annual championship was organised by San Sebastián’s Royal Sailing Club.
A total of 91 participants from the sailing clubs of Navarra, Asturias, Abra, Oza, Vitoria, Hondarribi and San Sebastian took part in the event. All the dinghies exhibited the DHI Logo and the organisation staff and volunteers were identified with DHI Crew vests. Winners for each category were Juan Olabarri from Real Club Marítimo de Abra for the Optimist-1 category; Nora Acha from the Real Club Náutico de San Sebastián for the Optimist-2 category; Manolo Rey-Baltar from Real Club Marítimo de Abra for Laser 4.7 category, and Nicolás Viar from Real Club Marítimo de Abra for the Laser Radial category.

DHI is proud to have been part of such an exciting event. We at DHI are always looking for avenues where we can engage the youth in the field of water. We hope to continue our strong partnership and collaboration with Basque Ports Authority and San Sebastian’s Royal Sailing Club in future events.
