Stéphanie Groen, managing director of DHI Singapore, was recently selected as one of the new young business leaders and subsequently invited to the WCS Young Leaders Symposium. At the Symposium, industry leaders took the opportunity to share and discuss ideas on creating liveable and sustainable cities as well as innovative solutions to real and projected challenges.
During the Young Leaders Symposium, Mr. Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chairman of Nestlé, shared his views on Cities and their water management problems which include waste and packaging. A second session involved round-table discussions about the most ‘wicked’ city problems and challenges that need to receive more attention in the years to come.

Ong Qianlin Zoe was selected as one of Singapore’s new Young Water Leaders, and was participating at the Young Water Leaders Summit. The Summit functions as a platform for an international community of selected young professionals engaged in the water sector to create collaborative networks with each other. During the Summit, veteran leaders shared their experiences in the water industry as well as inspired participants on pursuing knowledge to innovate solutions to solve water challenges.
‘The Young Water Leaders Summit 2016 was definitely an eye-opening experience for me as I gained many useful insights on how young people, together with the water leaders, can play a part in the water industry. DHI staff Paul Reimer and Wellym both presented on past projects during SIWW and the Danish Business Forum, where the Danish Minister for Environment and Food, Mr. Esben Lunde Larsen, participated. Further, DHI Singapore launched the third phase of its R&D collaboration together with Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) and its drinking water testing service for households. At our booth, DHI experts, sales managers and engineers from various DHI offices abroad joined forces and interacted with existing and new clients as well as industry leaders.
DHI’s presence at SIWW and WCS 2016 was a success and we look forward to pursuing creative partnerships and successful collaborations as a result of the event.
