Developers and vendors of new technologies essential for tackling the world’s environmental issues often face difficulties in gaining the confidence of investors and customers, hampering their entry to the market. One approach to help eco-innovations to reach the market is the reliable proof of new technology`s performance through Environmental Technology Verification (ETV).

In December 2011, the European Commission officially launched the EU ETV Pilot Programme, AdvanceETV. A conference and workshop summarising the project results will be help in Brussels on May 22-24 to conclude the project.

At the conference, you will learn about the importance of technology verification for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). Moreover, interested organisations can learn about their possibilities to become verification or testing units under the EU ETV. Finally, the conference will provide the status of the ETV programme in EU and of the work for internationalization, and there will be speakers from different countries, among others USA, Canada, the Philippines and Korea.

The event is co-organised by DHI, which was involved in the process as part of Danish Center for Verification of Climate and Environmental Technologies, DANETV.

Related to the conference, a session on EU ETV will be held on May 24 at the Brussels Green Week, where the subject of this year is The Water Challenge – Every Drop Counts.
