Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) interviewed one of our experts about innovation opportunities in India.

ICDK recently opened a new innovation centre in India. To mark the occasion, they interviewed Jesper Goodley Dannisøe, a Senior Project Manager at DHI Denmark. Jesper has several years of experience working on water-related projects in India. During the interview, he discussed some of the opportunities available in this fast-growing country.

“The major reason for going to India is that it has an enormous economy that is expanding very, very rapidly,” said Jesper. “But on the other hand, the water problems will grow at the exact same speed," he cautioned. "There's a huge potential for projects within the key areas of DHI's work – water, health and environment."

Since our India office opened in 2001 , we have worked with state authorities on a broad range of projects, such as irrigation assessment and port development, among others. Our experts have extensive experience working on projects in water environments, including:

  • reducing Non-Revenue Water (NRW) losses
  • working with hydropower plants
  • performing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)
  • conducting hydrological modelling and consulting

ICDK is a joint effort between the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science. It helps facilitate the entry of Danish food science, clean technology, and information and communications technology companies into new countries.
