These terms and conditions ('Terms') apply to use of the DHI academy website (www.theacademybydhi.com), including registration and any payment for all courses, seminars and events offered by DHI to commercial participants on our webshop. Please note that the webshop is for commercial use only and the Terms do not adhere to the consumer protection regulations.

Registration and payment

Registration for courses, seminars or events is made on our website and payment for registration has to be made online, by using one of the shown payment cards. DHI has a partnership with Yourpay and uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer), which means that all information regarding payment is encrypted and safe.

Event Cancellation

DHI reserves the right to cancel any course, seminar or event, in which case the registrants will be notified and offered the option to switch to a different course or receive a full refund. DHI is not liable for any claim, damage or loss either directly or indirectly incurred by the registrant due to cancellation or postponement of the course, seminar or event.

Refund Policy

Requests for refunds of registration fee must be received no later than 15 business days before the start of a course. Self-paced online courses are non-refundable. 

Intellectual property

The texts, layouts, drawings, databases and other items on the DHI website and in the DHI course material etc., as well as the website itself, are protected by copyright and by the right of the producer of the database. Names, signs and logos on this website are protected trademarks or trade names.

Your access to the website should not be construed as license or right to use any trademark displayed, without the written permission from us or such third party that may own the trademarks appearing on the website. Any copy, adaptation, translation, arrangement, modification, or any use whatsoever of the whole or of any part of this website or the DHI course material etc. of the protected elements, in any form and by any means, is strictly prohibited.

Privacy

When you sign up for DHI's courses, seminars, events or newsletters, we ask for your name, address, company name and email address for contact purposes. We register and use the information in connection with administration of events (e.g. to confirm your registration) and when sending out newsletters, information about courses, seminars or events if you had requested this. We also use the information for statistical purposes in order to become better at catering for our participants' needs. We always treat the information in confidence and do not pass it on to external partners.

COOKIES

How we use cookies

Cookies are very small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit some websites. The cookie will help the website recognise your device the next time you visit. We use cookies to track the behaviour of our users in order to enhance the website, so we can tailor your user experience, and analyse the use of and traffic on the site. The collected information is anonymous and non-personally identifiable. Some cookies are stored until you close your browser and some are stored for up to two years.

Cookies from parties other than DHI are also placed on your device (third-party cookies). Such cookies may be cookies performing ordinary functions or analysing tools and embedded comments fields. Please note that third party cookies may be collected in connection with online seminars and online courses (eg. by Webex) and the cookies may need to be accepted in order for the online seminars and courses to work. In addition, addthis.com places third-party cookies on www.theacademybydhi.com.

Google Analytics and Addthis.com places cookies enabling the website to recognise your device and register how often you visit the website. The session cookies are deleted when you close the browser. The cookies give DHI the possibility to adjust the site content and make it more relevant to the users.

Software licenses

You shall have no rights to the proprietary software and related documentation, or any enhancements or modifications thereto, which may be provided to you in order to access specified areas within the DHI website. You may not sublicense, assign or transfer any licenses granted by us, and any attempt at such sublicense, assignment or transfer shall be null and void. You may not otherwise copy, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from such software.

Reservations and disclaimer

DHI makes reservations towards possible changes in taxes, prices, errors, technical faults (e.g. preventing the registrant from accessing an online course, seminar or event etc.), or sold out courses etc. Furthermore DHI is not liable for any claim, damage or loss either directly or indirectly incurred by the registrant due to the quality of the course or errors etc. in the course material.

Your use of and browsing in this website is at your own risk. DHI does not warrant that the software used for this website, and the information, the online applications, or any other services provided by means of this website are error-free, or that their use will be uninterrupted. DHI expressly disclaims all warranties related to the above-mentioned subject matter, including, without limitation, those of accuracy, condition, merchantability and fitness for particular purpose. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary on this website, in no event shall DHI be liable for any loss of profits, revenues, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or other similar damages arising out of or in connection with this website or out of the use of any of the services proposed by means of this website.

Choice of law and forum provisions

These Terms are governed by Danish law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of this website, including but not limited to any disputes regarding the existence, validity or termination thereof, shall be settled by the Danish district court of Lyngby, Denmark.

Validity of terms and conditions

These terms and conditions are applicable from 7 November 2016.
