Taking the Vietnamese Danish Aquaculture Excellence Centre - VIDATEC - further

Our VIDATEC initiative together with other Danish aquaculture suppliers, the Danish Foreign Ministry and the Danish Ministry for the environment has officially kicked off.

Our VIDATEC initiative together with other Danish aquaculture suppliers, the Danish Foreign Ministry and the Danish Ministry for the environment has officially kicked off.

VIDATEC is expected to play a major role in establishing a strong green partnership by transferring the latest technology from Danish aquaculture technology suppliers to the Vietnamese aquaculture industry. This initiative will also set the framework for future development in this sector.

The first focus area will be the Pangasius farming. VIDATEC will aim at developing a more sustainable approach on the production benefiting both producers and the environment. Can Tho – the Vietnamese part of the Mekong Delta - is the proposed site for establishment of the Centre. A team of experts will continue the ongoing discussion and negotiations with public and private stakeholders to identify a suitable location for the Centre.

The core of the Centre will be a demonstration farm where the sustainable production technology can be demonstrated in action. We are supporting the development of the Centre by sharing our knowledge on advanced water treatment methodologies and the importance of water quality for feasible and sustainable production. We will also support the development and implement training programs within the full scope of the Centre.
