Organised by the Hungarian Government in cooperation with the World Water Council, the Budapest Water Summit will be the first global conference summarising the results of the
(in particular, Goal #6: Clean Water and Sanitation) since they were implemented in 2015. It will also set out tasks with targets to be achieved for the next 15 years.
The Summit’s mission: Water shall be the source of cooperation, peace and development for all nations committed to sustainable development.

The Summit will connect experts and officials from the UN specialised agencies of water, sanitation and sustainable water management, and international organisations, governments as well as business and academic communities, who can contribute to the implementation of the UNSDGs related to water.

Governor World Water Council and Senior Adviser to DHI
Dr. Torkil will participate as a panelist in a high-level panel discussion on Integrated Water Resources Management, as well as in the closing panel of the Science & Technology Forum, where panelists will discuss: ‘Turning the tide? How can scientific knowledge guide SDG policy making at different scale?’

Chengzi will give a talk on Aqua Republica and how it relates to SDG Goal #6 in the Civil Forum, which is jointly organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe. He will be presenting on the topic of: ‘More production with less water consumption? Implications of the Paris Agreement on the Water - Energy – Industry triangle.’

The Innovation Day is part of the Sustainable Water Solutions Expo, which will be focusing on sustainable, innovative, environment-friendly solutions in the field of drinking water production, water treatment and water supply.
