We sign a new real-time forecasting contract with Slovenia

We are happy to announce that we have signed a new contract with the Slovenian Environmental Agency (ARSO) for real-time forecasting.

In recent years, we have closely collaborated with ARSO in certain implemented projects. As such, we have developed a strong working relation with them. Based on our modelling technology and ARSO’s long-standing experience in operational forecasting, we have managed to build a sustainable and efficient real-time forecasting platform. It has already proven valuable in recent floods in Slovenia .

The solution for the development of the real-time platform in Slovenia has now been implemented in our new User Interface based on our MIKE Customised software. The result: a very strong and user-friendly tool within the real-time forecasting and warning arena. The technology transfer has played a crucial role in the project. We believe that the best sustainable solutions are created through a close cooperation between the clients and us throughout the project. During this process, ARSO (and its competent forecasting team) has brought invaluable knowledge in operational forecasting to the final solution.

 In the new two-year project, we will continue our close project cooperation with ARSO. We plan to raise ARSO’s real-time forecasting capabilities to a higher level. This will be done by building a countrywide web-based, real-time forecasting system. It will include flash flood forecasting as well as real-time flood mapping. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the Slovenian IT company Xlab and IZVO-R. IZVO-R has recently applied MIKE FLOOD successfully in the flood mapping of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
