Chemical user course

Chemicals, through production, handling, transport and use, pose a potential hazard to human health and the environment. The Globally Harmonized System on classification and labelling of chemicals (GHS) was developed with the aim to enhance protection of human health and the environment through standardised criteria for classification and hazard communication. The GHS regulations pose a complex challenge for companies producing or marketing chemical substances and mixtures, as well as the users of such chemicals. Meeting national and international legal requirements and optimising documentation involve a major effort, especially as the system develops continuously while striving for harmonisation.
